Pseudogynecomastia

Gynecomastia is the formation of breast tissue in males, usually caused by hormonal imbalances.  Pseudogynecomastia is simply the growth of excess fat on the chest.  This fat is not true breast tissue and can usually be removed through the use of proper diet and exercise.

While potentially embarrassing, Pseudogynecomastia is not something to be overly concerned about.  Visit your doctor for a physical and then hit the gym!  (ALWAYS consult your doctor before undertaking a new exercise program).  Schedule regular brisk exercise whether it be lifting weights, jogging, or simply walking the dog.  Create an exercise program that you can live with and stick to it.

Analyze your diet.  Begin keeping a log of the calories that you consume.  It's very easy to eat more than you realize, especially when the television is on.  Try not to watch television or read while eating.  This can distract you from realizing how much you're eating.  Record every calorie that you eat and cut out the junk food.

Eat "live" foods that are healthy for you.  For instance, consume lots of fruits and vegetables.  Try to stay away from fried foods and minimize meats high in fat.  Lean poultry and fish make excellent choices.  Salmon, besides being delicious is high in Omega-3 fats which are extremely good for you.  Salmon is also high in protein which will help you firm up those pecs after a hard workout.

If proper diet an exercise are unsuccessful at alleviating your problems, then plastic surgery may be an option.  Please consult your physician if you are unable to get rid of Pseudogynecomastia.
